In this video we will learn about adaptive tracing in the Presto engine.
Adaptive Tracing for the Presto engine is a technique that solves difficult lighting scenarios such as caustics coming from point lights and diffuse inter-reflections. This results in images with a higher dynamic range and lighting effects that were previously impossible.
Adaptive tracing is controlled by the following options:
- Clamp firefly: Enable this option to eliminate bright pixels from the final image
- Level: Clamps the brightness of the light paths of the rendered image that have a value higher than the one defined here
- Caustics: Enable this option to introduce reflective and refractive caustics
