Hi All, I'm going to reply to most of the posts here.
License: I'll try to explain as best as I can.
- sTU license is floating and allow other applications to be downloaded and run, without having to buy separate licenses for each. As I said in the previous post, this is primarily for medium/big companies, so leave it aside for now.
- Standalone (rental) license is for a single product only and is an annual license. As per this reseller (https://www.design8.eu/en/altair/solidthinking-units) it is 750 euro/year for Inspire Studio. Of course Inspire Render will be less.
This is NOT a first year only price: it is THE annual price.
I also restate that the introductory offer here https://www.design8.eu/en/altair/solidthinking-units is REALLY appealing: euro 499 for also all the modeling (NURBS/Polygonal/SubDivs with Construction History) is a SUPER price.
Please take the time to evaluate the modeling capabilities, you will be surprised.

For me it's strange that you have to sell this through resellers. In the global market not having at least the simpler product sold directly online is not cool. If the specialized sTU license is probably justified, Inspire render or even stydio is not, IMHO.
We are working to have a direct sales channel. You wouldn't believe how things get complicated when legal issues are involved....

Unless I'm failing to see, and I hope I am, cost related it's a no brainer and Vray wins. It also wins in a lot of other important features.
Inspire Render and V-Ray are going to have very similar pricing.

We are not even talking about other high quality not so realistic options that are shaking the foundation of photorealistic render itself with real-time rendering.
Inspire Studio/Render have a Real-Time rendering included. No need for separate products and export back and forth. We are also actively working on it and it will grow constantly. It also works directly with the same Thea materials in the library, no special materials required or having to learn another material system. Also the same scene can be directly rendered using Thea engine for best quality.
This are two sample videos made with the integrated animation and RealTime rendering:

Thea is still better but has less features (no direct substance support, no unreal integration or any other real-time engine)
We are reviving the substance converter, expect an announcement soon.
We don't need unreal, we have the internal RealTime renderer.
Take also a look at this channel for examples of modeling (and rendering) with Inspire Studio:
