and the 2nd lab is right there next to the texture preview window. so if you want to compare materials you only have to switch that the texture tab to 2nd mat lab and off you go.

i wasn't sure what Maverick is but i looked it up and you're right, very similar. i've been using this layout for years now as it's so convenient to have as much info as possible to hand for quick adjustments.
i've also saved other layouts for other uses.
i think the take away here is that the layout needs to be customisable. dockable windows with switchable tabs at a minimum. fully customisable is preferred and is a more up to date solution.
a single forced layout would be the final nail in the coffin AFAIC. but surely we're in an age now where that would never be a consideration?

I think the UI of Maverick is pretty standard these days for Studio style renderer, Look at Keyshot, Maxwell, Its been there for years.
Maverick render looks pretty for you guys that like Studio, also good upgrade price at the moment if you have every used Fry, Arion, etc..

A bit late but here goes, it is related since your talking about previewing texture on the material editor. Im trying to point out that using separate menus is tedious workflow.I don't see how this is related to the the initial post. You probably posted on the wrong topic...
But they seem to be working on that which is nice.

Ok. Thanks for clarifying that. I agree with you The less clicking the better and I feel this is also true in t4su, that should be optimized

if you're expecting mockups that look anything like the current Altair render app you'll be waiting a long time.
i took the time to create and explain my preferred layout, which has also been given the thumbs up by some of your more experienced users, yet you can't take the time to even acknowledge my post.
but please, carry on and alienate the few passionate users you have left...
