:problem: That wasn't part of the original request... :D
I suppose that you're right, but then again, I've been surprised positively before by the quality of the models from Cgaxis...

Besides, how often do you need to be really close to such 3D tree models...? :eh:
Usually you place them with some distance to the camera in a scene...
In most cases such models just add to the realism in a render, but they're part of the surrounding, not the main object of the scene... ;)

There's also some really nice once at 3dSky.org...

Yes these from 3d sky are really nice. This building is intertwined with trees. I probably won't need close-ups but somehow those forom cgaxis looked too CG to me.

 Sorry Kim!

I was writing on the phone and one get's annoyed by typing there so I didn't write formalities. I apologize and thank you for all your suggestions, they were really appreciated!

Especially the last trees were really good, though i had bought the other ones already as they were cheaper.

Anyway, we are digressing from the main topic. Sorry Mr. Phuc

Just before you get back on topic, here's a batch of Olive trees although i recall that the textures may need mapping for the OBJ's :

However I think there's the original max files in there too if anyone wants to convert them..

Thanks, I tried them too but was not able to work with those. Can't seem to fit those textures in place on any software I know. Thea, blender or sketchup (cof, cof, like I could ever in sketchup).

I did try those, there quite low in details, plus leaves are floating in mid air ;) But on the other hand, from a distance you will never notice this. So for mid-far shots these would do just fine. One thing is that i find the trees very spiky looking, the branches look weird in there angles, that doesnt look normal. There not looking very organic, so better for far shots ;)

These test were done 4 years ago... I only did one tree i just noticed

Ah okay I didn't get that far when i looked at them. I think they'd still be useful though in the back ground.

Did you texture the OBJ or export the max version? I didn't have the time or knowledge to pursue it.

Well i needed to check the models again. They come in blanco!!! thats really a pitty, they are not exported properly. I believe ive asked them to redo them, but dont think i got a response.

But redoing it isnt that difficult. The only thing which takes a bit longer is getting the trimmed branches part. Here's one i did in just a couple minnutes.

Making the tris quads again is more work, but i prefer to do those kinds of things.
