Anyone using the Thea for Rhino plugin with Bongo animation plugin for Rhino?
Does it work well?
If it works, I have quite a few questions on the workflow ... and features supported,
Thanks.

Hi Mski,
Thanks for the reply that is great to see!
So . . . maybe the Rhino Plugin developer could chime in here, as I have a quite a few questions. Since the manual mentions upcoming support for Bongo, I'd really like to know, if it's not too early to tell:
1) will a reload of the entire scene be necessary for every single frame? This can take quite a bit of time. I use Octane Render and this is the major drawback with animating with it.
2) since Rhino clipping planes work with the Thea plugin, does that mean we'd be able to also animate them like you can with the native Rhino render?
3) since the Thea plugin uses Rhino lights, does that mean that the properties of the lights (namely color and intensity) are also animatable? Again, this works with the native Rhino render engine and bongo, but not all rendering plugins support this.
4) is motion blur supported within the Thea for Rhino plugin? and will also work when animating with Bongo?
5) is Pascal graphics card architecture supported in the plugin?
6) are multiple graphics cards supported within the plugin?
Thanks again for taking the time to read . . .

I am also wondering about a couple of your questions. A pity the Thea team is unable to elaborate on these after a couple of months. It is a bit disconcerting to say the least.
Did you employ Thea Render for any of your projects in your portfolio?

Hi,
Bongo is not supported by Thea for Rhino. Only Rhino's camera walk-through animations are supported.
Multiple graphics cards can be used for rendering including Pascal GPUs.
Regards,
Christos

Yes, I agree, it's the main reason that I started using other programs instead of Thea for my professional work because the support for the Rhino Plugin was not good. A few months to respond to my original post and it would seem that it hasn't changed.
My portfolio is 90% Octane Render plugin for Rhino, and the rest Vray. I haven't updated my site in a couple of years with work, but I'm still using Octane for all of my professional projects. Octane and Bongo work wonderfully together, however as of now there is no clipping plane support, which Thea does appear to have, so I was thinking of bringing on Thea for animations that required the use of clipping planes would be nice . . . but Thea doesn't seem to work with Bongo so . . .
