It looks very unlikely mac os 10.14 and above will ever run cuda via the current nvidia web drivers. Instead Apple is digging in it's heals with their own Metal equivalent. Is this something Thea will or is planning to implement? Our studio is currently stuck with 2010/11 mac pros 5.1 with x2 titan x cards and external PSUs under 10.13.6. These work well to an extent, but often only run in cpu mode with the latest 1860 Thea engine. 1830 and below work fine (but isn't as fast).
So the question will Open CL ever be resurrected so AMD cards could offer an alternative? or Apple Metal? anything for a bright Mac future with Thea behind the wheel?
Happy new year to all
Smalltalk and interesting stuff about everything else.
