I have recieved a quote to upgrade to version 2 and this is what i was quoted. What a joke!
No Pertetual Licience available.
I bought thea back it 2011.

Inspire Render = $299/mth or $2399/yr

Inspire Studio = $729/mth or $5789/yr (comes with Inspire Render built in)
How many licenses?
$299/month for 1 license is obviously out of market.

The fact you purchased Thea in 2011 is not rilevant in my opinion.

To me, it looks like they want ti get rid of all loyal customer base. Well, not a big problem starting from free renders to Thea's straight competitors with reasonable prices. And on the subject of Altair CAD abilities - I'd prefer Moi3d as more artist friendly and intuitive tool. If they somehow decided to lay the Thea low they did the great job. Anyway I'll use 1.5 until the OS and hardware support it.

Hello!
Im sorry for the interuption but I would like to hear your opinion.
Is it worth investing in THEA RENDER?
Im asking this couse Ive read aboth the Altair afere that everyone is talking and it seems that nobody knows the outcome/future.
Im a Rhino user and I realy want an good rendering engine that is well integrated into Rhino.
Thea seems to be very nice...but Im concerned about its future....
Is there a reason to be skeptic?

Thanx in advance

One thing more....any chance for an monthly subscription?
Im serious!
I see some render engines doing this and its great.
Im not a pro vizualization expert so I dont need rendering engine every day, so year subscription is maybe not the thing I need.

20-30€ a month would be great!

I am moving toward Blender/Lux Core Render. Not having developpement on Thea Studio is sad. I need relight and LuxCore does it.

Well no, they have Inspire Render, which is the Studio replacement and actively developed, likewise Sketchup and Rhino, both of which don't require migrating to Studio

I don't like subscriptions either, but what do you do? Sketchup is going that way totally, in November on a two year backwards support, so my days with Sketchup might be numbered.
