After that it will be paid again, so perhaps this is just a test drive or they need more customer feedback. Not sure why this is, its not stated neither.

But you can keep using it even after 11/2019 though: you just have to install and register it before 11/2019.

This is incredible news. I was thinking on trialing both twinmotion and lumion and it seems I haven't much thinking to do right now... I wonder what the price will be when realtime raytracing will be available for twinmotion too.

Epic was planning to go subscription for its Unreal Studio. So i assume they might go the subscription route. If i remember correctly the Unreal Studio subscription was around 49 USD/month.

I think the process is rather simple : they use their name and fame to make this tool known by everyone, then they give it for free so everyone will have it and test it, in the meantime they have time to add new trendy features (most certainly RTX related functionality), and then they could sell loads of them and dominate the market...

I think this bold strategy works only because they're sitting on the pile of cash generated by Fortnite, and don't need to bother selling any Twinmotion copies for months.

That being said, when thy will have realtime raytracing fonctionality, it may be a game changer...

That's why it's dirty business... Because it works.

I wouldn't also be surprised if they did like fortnite and kept it free while people would pay for assets

I watched something online about this, Epic plan a fully integrated version of Twinmotion, I also believe the name will change and it will work seamlessly like Enscape currently does, Lumion have some scary months ahead, epic is a juggernaut and while these companies fight for dominance we the users will be the winners. would not be surprised if Lumion has a dramatic price drop this year before a new Epic integrated Unreal powered raytracing solution drops later this year.
