Hi Guys. I'm trying to model a microphone. Here is my first result. Has anyone ideas what can be done better?

Thats is just awesome, it looks really nice. Like that brushed material, is that the standard one?

PS i havent posted my addon update yet for Blender. I found some issues i want to fix first. Sorry for the big delay. I keep find small issues and keep adding stuff. Than i always test items and sometimes notice earlier added items are broken.

Hello,
For the metal I used a material from the online repository. I think Angle_B_A2_Matte_Brushed_14k_Unplated_White_Gold pretty nice.
For the lighting, I used an HDR image. Here I used one from HDRI IBL Studio.
OK, one or the other will change. But the microphone itself is almost done. I would like to modifi the environment even more. But i'm not shure what.

There is hardly any environment, its just a plane with a wood texture?

That's true. There is no environment. It's just a plate with a wood texture. So not really something to show. I think to take a slightly reflective plane. I also would like to change something on the lighting. But thats the next step. Currently I create a plug with a cable for the microphone.

I still thought to make a holder for it. but have the fear that it deviates from the microphone.

OK. Here the next version of the microphone. It is supplemented only by a plug with a wire. And the background is different now.

Why not something like quick added sketch. I think that would like nice as a product shot. You can decide to use a gradient background or dark one.

PS the parfum is also a nice backdrop. That is "C_Studio_04" Studio IBL from Thea's studio lib, i LOVE this one.

PS there is a nice trick using Hooks on your curve path. That way you can style the cable super easy

great work!

But any sound technician would cringe seeing a microphone like that just laying around ;-)

@ Werthen: You're right. That's why I have tears in my eyes when I see it lying. I tried to construct a microphone holder, but it did not look as intended. I will first take the "Siemens air hook (Siemens Lufthaken)" .

@ Rombout: I like the idea. Will try to implement in the next days.

This is one great model to see! Great job.

I must have missed it somewhere, but what modelling soft as used to create the model?
