Objects & Proxies

The properties of the SketchUp components, groups or Thea model proxies can be found in the model tab .

Visible to camera: Controls whether the object will be visible by the camera
Visible in reflections - refraction: Controls whether the object will be seen in the other objects reflections or seen through a transparent object (refraction)
Shadows: Turns shadows on or off for the selected object
Container: Use the provided list to assign a specific material as a container for the model
Mask index: Assign a mask index to the selected object. The value ranges from 0 to 15

If you enable the 'Mask' channel, the assigned masks will be available from the channels drop-down.

Beveling adds rounded edges to sharp edges on render time while edge ramps assigns a color to them.
Beveling: Enables or disables the beveling effect on the object
Radius - width (cm): Defines the radius of the beveled edges in centimeters. When the material of the object is using the edge ramp procedural, the same value will be used for the width of the edges
Min. angle (deg): This value allows the user to limit the effect of beveled edges to corners having an angle greater than the one defined here

This section is only available when a SketchUp component is selected.

  • Create proxy: Creates a Thea model out of the selected component

This section displays the materials of the selected Thea proxy object when the 'Proxy Editing' button is active

  1. Proxy editing toggle: Click on the "Box" icon to enable proxy material editing
  2. Modified material indication: When a proxy material has been edited, the icon next to it becomes blue with a red cross. Clicking on the X button will revert the material to the default one
  3. Save model : Save the currently selected Thea proxy with any changes made to its materials

When proxy material editing is enabled, the material editor displays only the Thea proxy materials. To go back to the scene materials either click on the 'Proxy Editing' button on the material editor or disable the toggle button in the model tab.
