We will announce rendertimes later, but I can say, in case you're wondering, that it is much faster than Kerkythea.
Thanks :)

i already answered you in the Bowling scene post ;) .... anyway if anybody else wonder .... the render times of the alpha version of Thea will have nothing to do with the render times of the realise version ... because Thea right now is not running in optimized mode .

soon everybody will be able to test Thea and will see render times for themself ... ;)

Greetings Patrick

hello everybody,

I wonder why you compare the render time with Kerkythea's one which is an Unbiased engine, I am agree, but it is a free one (that makes a difference). And not really suitable for Professional production. So to compare or give us a good approach of the Thea's speed capacity, is it possible to position it beside MX or FRY or Houdini, which are both in Production stage actually and professional oriented.

By the way, nice work around the SLR. +5 :)

Regards,

Tanguy

it's been 3 months and still no mention of render time, machine specs rendered on, etc.
You really need to give this information so people can get an idea of the machine power and time.

Hi Slinger

the Mclaren SLR render was made with an early alpha version of Thea when no optimisations where enabled or made to the render engine .... so wanting to know how much time it took dont make any sense because Alex would need to re render the scene with the actual Thea beta engine that is much more optimised regarding render speed .... if you want to know some render times etc. please have a look here ;)
