Here's a portrait shot of the character I've been working on. I sculpted him in Zbrush, using the new fibre mesh feature for the hair. Exported into Thea studio via Blender. I should say that this final image is composite of three different crf outputs, I wasn't able to get the skin quite how I wanted it straight from Thea without a little post pro.

Edit: I have re-rendered with a change to background colour, tone mapping and added the depth of field.

looks great
How did you get hair rendered in thea? as far as I know hair-rendering is not possible at the moment?

a small critic: maybe you should have a specular map with some parts reflecting a bit. Like a bit on the nose and just under the eyeball. (But I'm not sure I don't know anything about rendering a human head :D )

Thanks, noro, I thought he looked slightly like Rollins myself - it wasn't intentional. Dbalex, I have used a spec map but you're correct I suppose those areas do look like they need a bit more moisture. I'm still not 100% happy with my skin shader, it's a bit of a balancing act with the spec, sss and textures etc.

With regards the hair, it was made in Zbrush with their new Fibre mesh feature which is pretty cool. The only problem is of course that it has to be converted to .obj to export into Blender/Thea and that can mean a lot of Polys. It should be said, hair can be done directly in Blender in a similar way and converted to obj for use in Thea.

Thanks Rombout. I'm fed up looking at this guy at this stage but I'll probably do a full length view and post it later on in the week.
