i think Thea would be faster on that machine :) .... did anybody notice how the refection on the chess board still reflect the figures even he set the IOR of the chess figures to 1,00 ....

Thats one amazing machine.
Its quite embarrassing for a company to have to use a such a beast of machine to make there renderer look fast. Any renderer using that machine would have outstanding results.
How many companies in the world could afford a workstation like that ?
Its definitely not a affordable solution :)

these demonstrations of brute force makes me laugh because they have no realistic feedback. how many of these workstations will be sold in the world!
many users 'common' affordable for such a charge.
this is not to say that is not impressed by the power calculation, but the drivers are seen in curves .... not on a straight road downhill!

It's not so "rare" workstation, a quad-processor using new 10 core CPUs. If you don't have much space for rendering machines and need to use workstations for render, it's a good solution.

I didn't think the 10 core cpus were out yet ?


Not actual physical cores, but 16 threads via hyper-threading. If 4 sloth mother board is used, you can have 64 threads.
